Easily one of my favorite games is becoming rather blasé in the fashion doll aisle. I had to really search today to find the Bratz games among the many other sorts of dress up dolls. Of course, after the huge lawsuits fought over the dolls, it really wouldn’t make much sense for the two sides to suddenly just agree to quit the dolls all together. The legal troubles are over and the dolls might not be hugely popular right now, but I’ll bet they will be again.

The Bratz games have definitely suffered over the last few years, but they seem to be staging a comeback at last. The courts decided that the Bratz games didn’t infringe on any legal things, and with all the lawsuits resolved in their favor, the maker of the Bratz games are getting started making new games and toys and bringing the Bratz games back to party in a big way. It’s a good thing, too, since there were so many new fashion dolls looking to take over some of Bratz games property.

Bratz games haven’t always been welcome with open arms, but they are now. When they were first introduced years ago, the Bratz games were considered rather risqué, but today looking down the pink doll aisle in the toy store is very enlightening. Vampire dolls, teenagers in revealing clothing and any sort of pop star is showing up and it’s not always a good thing. Bratz games will at least bring back one more kind of choice.

The news coming out of courtrooms these days seems to favor the Bratz games. After years of lawsuits back and forth, it appears that the courts have finally awarded the final prize to the Bratz games, reversing a decision by the earlier courts that awarded the biggest prize to Mattel, the maker of Barbie games. While it’s likely that no money has changed hands yet, the ongoing legal battles have been an integral part of the fashion doll industry in recent years and it’s going to be just as interesting to see what happens now.

For a while it looked like Mattel was going to win the case and pull Bratz from the shelves. Now it may just be that the Bratz dolls get even more love and attention from the “tweens” who are the primary market of the dolls and the Bratz games may slip into a greater position in the market. At one time, soon after they were introduced, the urban-styled Bratz games were almost neck and neck with Barbie games.

I was at the toy store today and I noticed that there are some rather impressive sales going on. One of the same items that caught my eye were the Bratz games. The Bratz dolls and their accessories are apparently undergoing a restocking or a facelift because there seemed to be quite a few of them on sale. Of course, there were plenty that weren’t, so I’m certainly not implying that the Bratz games are on the way out – we’ve already been down that road, before.

As much as I love a good sale, I didn’t snatch up many of the Bratz games that I came across, even if they were marked down quite a bit. The dolls were adorable, of course, but frankly, I don’t know many girls who play with fashion dolls like the Bratz dolls. They seem more suitable for older girls, and the ones I know are still very much in the Barbie princess phase of girldom. Perhaps if there was a Bratz princess doll, I might reconsider, but I didn’t see one there today at least!

It’s hard to think of Bratz games as being a source of rescue, but in this case it’s absolutely true! But now that they have been pulled from the shelves and then put back again, it’s hard to remember that these urban fashion dolls were once almost as popular as the Barbie games. Of course, I hope that Bratz games don’t go away – it will be interesting to watch them and see if they can actually stage a decent come back in the next year or so.

The summer months are the perfect time to settle down with some Bratz games. Bratz games are great year round, of course, but in the long days of summer, there is plenty of time to hang out at home and go through all of your old toys. After a very long and drawn out court battle it would appear that Bratz games have the win. The court room drama has been ongoing for some time, and only now after years, has a judge overturned the ruling that was previously in effect and the end result is that the Bratz games may continue as they have for years.

A few years ago Mattel became uncomfortable with the Bratz dolls and decided that the creator of the popular fashion toys had created the dolls based on ideas he’d had while he worked for the company that made Barbie. Mattel sued and won the first case. MGA Entertainment, the company that makes the Bratz dolls was to give up their dolls and hand over everything, including a hefty fine, to Mattel.

But in the appeals process, MGA Entertainment actually won their dispute and appeal, and now the Bratz games are officially safe at last. Unfortunately, the legal business has made the Bratz dolls less of recognizable brand, but it will be interesting watching the dolls make a comeback.

It’s amazing how time can fly. I was at the stores the other day and noticed that it’s now the 10th anniversary of the Bratz games. It’s hard to believe that only ten years ago, those fashion dolls were appearing and giving Barbie a run for her money. And most amazingly, after ten years and plenty of legal trouble, the Bratz games are still out there causing trouble for Barbie.

Popular to a fault, the Bratz games are still the urban, trendy fashion dolls that they were when they first appeared, but like all things fashion, the Bratz dolls have been forced to stay caught up with the times if they are going to appear cool and exciting. Fortunately the Bratz games are able to do exactly that and although the faces of the Bratz dolls with their doe eyes and pouting lips aren’t changing, their fashions are – which means the Bratz games are always up to date.

It’s confusing to try and remember who is suing who this week, so I’ve all but given up on that. I find it more beneficial to take some time and just enjoy what I see around me. And this week I see plenty of Bratz games again, and that makes me happy.
