Bratz Games and Mothers

There are mothers out there who love the Bratz games because they represent diversity and they entertain their daughters. But there are other mothers out there who have a hard time understanding and enjoying the Bratz games that their children like so much. There is something to be said for both groups, but like them or not, the Bratz games are here to stay.

Bratz games were a welcome addition to a toy aisle dominated by fair-haired Barbie dolls. Suddenly there were dolls of every color and creed standing alongside the lovely Barbie dolls. And best of all, the dolls were different in critical ways – not just darker hair on the same Barbie face. Mothers of children who look more like the ethnicities depicted in the Bratz dolls were enthusiastic.

But other mother weren’t as thrilled by the Bratz games. There were concerns about the appropriateness of the clothing Bratz dolls were wearing. There were concerns that the dolls just looked too sexy for the more conservative mothers of every color and creed. But in the end, it was the children that got to decide. Did they love the Bratz games or were they more comfortable with other toys. After all, it is the audience that matters most.
