Bratz Games and the Future

I’m not a soothsayer. I can’t predict the future, and certainly not the future of the Bratz games, but there is hope for the trendy, stylish dolls yet. If you’re not up to speed on Bratz games, there was a trial recently and the Bratz lost. It was shown that the Bratz actually belong to Mattel, the company that owns Barbie games. (It’s not Barbie’s fault.)

So the Bratz games were going to be destroyed and turned over to Mattel, but then they weren’t. A stay was granted and for the moment everyone seems to be keeping on keeping on. Bratz dolls are still being manufactured and Barbie dolls are doing well in their own right.

If I were to hazard a guess, and remember I’m by no means anything that even resembles and expert in all of this, I’d guess that Mattel, who technically owns the Bratz dolls will allow the Bratz to stay in production. They will do a gradual take-over of the company or move into the factory that creates the dolls and stick their label on them. After all, Bratz games are too popular to mess with if Mattel is remotely interested in profits – which we know they are.
