Bratz Games: The Virtual World of Bratz

Bratz games may not be flying off the shelves much anymore – mainly because they aren’t on the shelves much anymore – but these fashion divas are still very much in demand and hugely popular with young girls. But if you can’t find Bratz games on the store shelves, where are young girls getting their fix of doe-eyed, urban beauties? The answer is simple enough – they are finding a bit of fashion fun on their handheld game players and online.

Bratz games are a huge sensation online. The games featuring what amounts to a paper doll series of Bratz dolls are ideal for playing dress up games on the computer. No fuss, no muss and not expensive since the games are totally free most of the time. Of course, there is another option for those seeking to play Bratz games. The Nintendo DS games are popular with young girls as well. With a new game coming out in time for Christmas, those looking for their fix of Bratz will simply have to get it courtesy of Nintendo.

The Future of Bratz Games?

Of the many different fashion games available for girls, Bratz games have had the most ups and downs. The Bratz games that came on the scene a decade ago have had a rough lifetime. When they first emerged into the fashion doll world, Bratz dolls were snapped up by girls tired of Barbies and babies. They wanted something that looked to be a bit more real - and Bratz games delivered.

But then things started to get a bit sticky for the Bratz games. They were cutting into Barbie's market share considerably and Mattel, the maker of Barbies, sued. Through the next few years, the legal battles raged between the two companies. At first Mattel appeared to be the victor, but then the tides shifted on an appeal and Bratz games came out ahead. Unfortunately, by this point the fashion doll market had moved on a bit and Bratz dolls are hard to find in many major stores. Will they have any future at all?
