The Case for Bratz Games

If you’ve been around long enough in the fashion doll world, you know that the Bratz dolls have taken quite a bashing over time. The Bratz dolls have a rather sultry look to them that makes many parents uncomfortable, but it is what is not obvious that makes these dolls as powerful as they are.

Bratz games are popular with young girls because they speak to the girls. There are only so many girls in the world that are blond and leggy. There are far more who have skin color in a rich, darker tone and having fashion dolls in those colors lets everyone play equally.

The Bratz games also let girls explore fashion. This is something most parents should be able to get on board with. After all, creativity is one of the most critical skills for success and learning how to be successful is something parents encourage their children to be already. If playing a game online will help them learn that creative spirit of design, why not encourage the games?

Bratz Games and Mothers

There are mothers out there who love the Bratz games because they represent diversity and they entertain their daughters. But there are other mothers out there who have a hard time understanding and enjoying the Bratz games that their children like so much. There is something to be said for both groups, but like them or not, the Bratz games are here to stay.

Bratz games were a welcome addition to a toy aisle dominated by fair-haired Barbie dolls. Suddenly there were dolls of every color and creed standing alongside the lovely Barbie dolls. And best of all, the dolls were different in critical ways – not just darker hair on the same Barbie face. Mothers of children who look more like the ethnicities depicted in the Bratz dolls were enthusiastic.

But other mother weren’t as thrilled by the Bratz games. There were concerns about the appropriateness of the clothing Bratz dolls were wearing. There were concerns that the dolls just looked too sexy for the more conservative mothers of every color and creed. But in the end, it was the children that got to decide. Did they love the Bratz games or were they more comfortable with other toys. After all, it is the audience that matters most.

Bratz Games and Toothbrushes

Not sure why, but for some reason, I always notice the Bratz games on toothbrushes. Of course, I’ve noticed Bratz games everywhere they crop up, but for some reason, they just really stand out to me on toothbrush packaging.

I should mention that I think the Bratz dolls are some of the best marketed products of all time, at least on the girl’s toy aisle. The dolls were introduced and immediately filled a need within the marketplace. It was obvious that they were just what young girls wanted when they started to fly off the shelves. Within just a few years, Bratz games had taken over half of the market, with the other half still firmly dominated by Barbie games.

But the best thing of all is that Bratz games moved on to products that their fans like to use every day. There are Bratz games backpacks and Bratz games lunchboxes. Best of all, there are Bratz games toothbrushes. All the products serve a nice purpose. They remind the young market-goers that Bratz are their toy of choice and let others know as well. It’s all about establishing a brand, and Bratz do it exceptionally well.

Bratz Games and Race

Easily one of the best things about Bratz dolls is how color blind the dolls are. It’s inspiring to think that four girls of totally different races and backgrounds can be best friends – even if it’s just pretend. The Bratz dolls are obviously different skin tones and have their own personalities and features. This is very different from other fashion dolls that simply make the same doll in darker colors.

Having race present in Bratz games gives girls and their parents an excellent opportunity to discuss racial issues and makes girls more aware that there are dolls out there that look like them – and in a beautiful, unique way. Having popular dolls of every race and creed makes it more fun for anyone to want to play along, this is especially true of groups who tend to be left behind in the plastic doll department.

There are still concerns among parents about the way the Bratz games are dressed and their various facial expressions. But if parents are able to see past that to the true open-mindedness of the girls, there are very important lessons to be learned.

Are Bratz Games So Bad?

To hear some parents and advocates talk, you’d think that Bratz games are among the worst toys in the industry. The girls dress provocatively. They look too sexy. They are a bad influence. But what about the positive aspects of the dolls?

Bratz games are inspirational to young girls. They are able to explore fashion and use their imaginations in new and fun ways. Designing outfits for Bratz dolls is a great deal of fun for girls and playing with fashion online or with Bratz dolls might be the start of a fun, creative career.

Bratz games are all inclusive. Unlike other fashion dolls, the Bratz dolls represent a wide range of cultures and ethnicity. The Bratz dolls seem to come from every race under the sun, or at least the four major ones in most urban areas. This is a distinct difference from other fashion dolls.

What’s the Future of Bratz Games?

Bratz games seem to face an uncertain future. Nobody seems to know what will happen to the dolls whose faces have inspired a generation of moms to raise up in arms or a generation of girls to claim they absolutely have to have their own Bratz dolls right this very second. The Bratz dolls are edgy. They are trendy. They are great fun for the fashion minded, but they might be headed no-where.

The Bratz games were involved in a lawsuit that seemed to span years. And while the courts have ruled that Bratz games belong to Mattel now, nothing seems to have happened to the line of dolls. They are still there on the store shelves. Many people thought the dolls would disappear. Others thought they would change dramatically. But so far nothing has happened.

It’s still a mystery about what will actually happen to these dolls. Will they go away? Be stronger than ever? Regardless, for the time they are still immensely popular.

Bratz Games Are Beautiful

They might seem unconventional to the average observer, but to those familiar with Bratz games, the simple concept behind the games is truly beautiful. What other games are famous for looking like and having elements of everyone? There are Bratz dolls of every color and creed. None of the Bratz dolls are considered the leader of the pack since they were a pack of best friends to begin with. The same can’t be said for the other fashion dolls that seem to tack on the colorful girls after the fact.

The Bratz games are a perfect example of tolerance and multiculturalism. Friends from every nationality join together in style and fashion to have fun, work together and simply enjoy each others company. Best of all, everyone who plays with Bratz dolls seems to simply accept this as fact. Why shouldn’t four friends who look totally different be best friends? Why shouldn’t everyone have different interests and styles? What does it matter who you are or what you do when you have great friends to play dress up games with?

Bratz Games and the Future

I’m not a soothsayer. I can’t predict the future, and certainly not the future of the Bratz games, but there is hope for the trendy, stylish dolls yet. If you’re not up to speed on Bratz games, there was a trial recently and the Bratz lost. It was shown that the Bratz actually belong to Mattel, the company that owns Barbie games. (It’s not Barbie’s fault.)

So the Bratz games were going to be destroyed and turned over to Mattel, but then they weren’t. A stay was granted and for the moment everyone seems to be keeping on keeping on. Bratz dolls are still being manufactured and Barbie dolls are doing well in their own right.

If I were to hazard a guess, and remember I’m by no means anything that even resembles and expert in all of this, I’d guess that Mattel, who technically owns the Bratz dolls will allow the Bratz to stay in production. They will do a gradual take-over of the company or move into the factory that creates the dolls and stick their label on them. After all, Bratz games are too popular to mess with if Mattel is remotely interested in profits – which we know they are.

Thoughts on Bratz Games

If you were to ask for my thoughts on Bratz games – not that you would be that interested in my musing to ask, you’d discover that I’m one of the few who has given plenty of thought to Bratz games.

Bratz games are different. Because they are different they are popular. You need only to look at the Bratz dolls to see just what makes them unique from other dolls. Barbie dolls are classic. Even the small Polly Pockets and others look similar. But Bratz games look different in regard to the doll and the clothing.

Bratz games are more in tune with kids today. The Bratz games seem to know the sorts of things that kids like to see. There are more accessories for the Bratz games that make sense to us today. There are more styles we might like to wear. It just makes more sense to us to play Bratz games than anything else.

Bratz games are controversial. It’s a curse. The more controversial something is, the more interested we are in playing it. Because Bratz games are controversial, girls everywhere have heard of them and are ready to play. If parents really wanted to keep girls away, they would never mention them at all.
